Sailor Ink - Souboku 2ml Sample
2ml sample of Sailor's Souboku fountain pen ink, in a labeled plastic vial.
Ink Samples are a great way to try out new inks without investing in the expense of a full bottle. 2mls is normally good enough to fill a converter 1-2 times giving ample examples of how the ink writes.
1 x 2ml Vial.
Souboku is a true-to-form blue-black ink. There is a moderate amount of shading, so there is some nice gradation in color. At it's lightest, the ink is a slate blue. From there, the ink shades to an aegean blue before finishing as a dark navy denim. The ink dries to a matte finish, so you're not likely to note much sheening.
Like any pigmented ink, proper care for cleaning your pen should be exercised when using this or any pigmented ink.
Sailor Standard Inks
Sailor inks are famous for the reliability. They tend to be free flowing, dry quickly and show little signs of bleeding or feathering, paper depedent of course. Sailor is one of the few companies that offer both dye and pigment based inks that can be used in fountain pens.
